DATA POETICS
School of Museum of Fine Arts at the Tufts University (Upcoming - Fall, 2023)This studio explores the art and design concepts in the context of data, storytelling, and digital technologies. The creative potential of data has been embraced by artists and designers, who have used it as a medium to create thought-provoking works of art that challenge our perceptions and inspire new ways of thinking. As data continues to grow in importance and ubiquity, it is exciting to consider all the ways it can be harnessed as a medium to communicate, educate, and inspire.
In this hands-on and project-based studio, students learn to turn data into artistic experiences, explore the ways of storytelling in an interactive and immersive world, and create multilayered narratives. We will explore the ontological, cultural, and practical implications of artworks produced with data.
